Valentine's Day Events

If you are single, in a relationship, or you’re not old enough to see a PG-13 movie, you are in luck. There are plenty of bitter, mushy, and family-friendly of events to choose from. Not even the winter chill can stop Buffalo from celebrating all things pink and red this weekend.


For Couples


Valentine’s Day Tour

Saturday, Feb 12, 11:00am-1:00pm.

Graycliff Estate, 6472 Lake Shore Rd. $30 per person.

The tour includes information about Frank Lloyd Wright’s design of Graycliff (a romantic story), anecdotes about Wright’s love life, and complimentary hot chocolate.

Equal Parts Love & Lust, An Open Poetry Reading

Saturday, Feb 12

7pm. Rust Belt Books, 202 Allen St. $5.

Hold hands with your significant other and listen to some hot and heavy poetry. Perhaps you’ll even work up the courage to read your own expressions of love out loud. Hosted by Mark C. LLoyd. Sign up at 6:30pm.

Valentine’s Day Story Time

Bring the kids for Valentine’s Day stories and crafts. For children ages four to eight.

Mother/Son Cupcake Throwdown

Saturday, Feb 12 3:30-5pm.

Sweet Sixteen Café, 16 W Main St., Lockport. $25.

Cupcakes, decorations, and frosting will be provided. Bring aprons and your imagination. Prizes will be given for most creative and most fun. Guests receive a soup and sandwich lunch, hot chocolate, tea, or coffee, and treats.

8th Annual The Cure vs The Smiths Dance Party

Saturday, Feb 12 10pm.

Mohawk Place, 47 W Mohawk St.

Soothe your lonely soul with the sounds of the Cure and the Smiths. With lyrics like “I’ve been living so long with my pictures of you, that I almost believe that the pictures are all I can feel” you can express your melancholy and dance all night.

First Annual Allentown Anti-Valentine’s Day

Monday, Feb 14

7:30-11pm. Hardware Café, 245 Allen St. $5.

If you’re single and bitter, celebrate your jaded nature with other singles. Hang Cupid in effigy, chant “I hate Valentine’s Day” with manic abandon, and who knows… maybe you’ll meet some other cute bitter person. 18+
