Another Artie Awards has come and gone. This year we topped $7,000 in funds raised for Benedict House, which provides services for individuals in our community living with HIV/AIDS and their families. Many thanks to the theaters that participated in the Red Ribbon campaign and to the more than 500 attendees!

Their memories of the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s are brimming over with family, favorite menus, music—both sentimental and exuberant—and a litany of vivid characters who populated a West Side world, now gone.

As the future of the old Palace Burlesque at 710 Main Street slowly takes shape—that’s the building best known as the former Studio Arena—the first event out of the box is inventive and locally produced, and promises to be spectacularly fun. MusicalFare’s inaugural 24 Hour Musical Festival will take place in the facility on Saturday, June 23 at 8pm.
