Miranda Zero has a lot of friends in high places, plus 1,001 field agents that make up the worldwide rescue operation known as Global Frequency. When the odds of humanity’s survival are limited, Zero’s operatives goes into action. Agents are contacted and kept connected during field operations via special cell phones by Aleph, a young computer geek who is also Miranda Zero’s right-hand woman. When an agent is on the Frequency, there’s no turning back: the mission is live and, most times, deadly. A psychotic bionic man. A space-borne city killer. A man with a wormhole for a brain. A deadly alien threat. The agents of the Global Frequency face these threats and more—and their survival is never guaranteed. This trade paperback started out as a monthly comic in 2002 and has since grown to cult status amongst fans of the author Warren Ellis—and rightly so. His imagination draws you in, and doesn’t let go until long after you’ve turned the last page. Just recently, Global Frequency was been optioned for film production, which is exciting in its own right; though a weekly “pay” channel venture might bet better served.
