Rob Crow
by Shaun Smith
In addition to being the front man of the increasingly successful rock band Pinback, San Diego-based musician Rob Crow is also an accomplished solo artist. He’s just embarked on a North American tour promoting the release of his third solo effort, Living Well (Temporary Residence). Fans of Pinback will recognize the similarities in musical style, however Crow’s solo work is leaps and bounds ahead of many of Pinback’s arrangements. Crow is successful in creating both catchy and thoughtful lyrics that make him seem funny and likeable, especially with song titles like “I Hate You, Rob Crow.” Crow comes to Soundlab on Tuesday (Feb. 27) for a 9pm show
