Sunburned Hand of the Man
A fluctuating collective formed in rural Massachussetts, Sunburned Hand Of The Man has often been lumped in the so called “free folk” scene. While they may share certain qualities with bands such as Feathers or Espers, they have a spirit of adventure that fewcan rival. There is no planned set for any performance, and rarely if ever is anything repeated twice. Like Six Organs Of Admittance (with whom they often share members), the group thrives on confounding expectations. Like offering raw and primitive percussive drones when an audience was expecting innovative and delicate folk music. Every show is different, so different in fact that the band often sells CDRs of their shows as soon as the following night. Sunburned Hand Of The Man performs at Mohawk Place on Sunday (March 10) at 9pm with Gown and Pengo. No one’s saying what will happen, but it will definitely not be boring.
