Transportation Infrastructure Made Simple
Instead of building the second span of the Peace Bridge on the south side of the existing span and obliterating the Prospect Hill Neighborhood, this should be built north of the existing span and preserve the neighborhood. This should then be for noncommercial vehicles only, while two new bridges should be buit downstream from the ends of Route 198 and Sheridan Drive, for both trucks and noncommericial vehicles. Interstate 190 should also be done away with between Sheridan Drive and Michigan Avenue, with trucks routed on Interstates 90 and 290 wherever possible and a new parkway taking shape on Niagara Street, River Road, and the streets of the Inner Harbor, Cobblestone, and Old First Ward districts.
