The Common Kings
by Caitlin Derose
After years of playing in bands that have since broken up, The Common Kings recently found each other and formed what looks to be the band that lasts. Playing at the Buffalo Icon on Friday (Dec. 29) at 6pm, The Common Kings fuse together sounds from many different genres, and thank their widely ranging fan base for allowing them to be able to bring their individual musical tastes and talents under one roof. They describe their sound as a cohesion between aggressive and intimate – “something standard, yet sovereign.” The concert will be hosted by Jeff Martin, previously of This Day and Age, and will also feature performances by Colors in the Air, The Airview, The Thermidors and Vita Eterna
